Welcome! This is a blog for our new (and first) home, a 1917 bungalow in the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It is a kit home, the Marsden model, cut and sold by the Aladdin Company in Bay City, Michigan.
The purpose of this blog is to document our efforts to turn the house into our home. You will not find many stories of remodeling here, as the previous owners left the house in wonderful condition. Rather I want to share the house itself, its history, its place in the community, its life as a home. I hope you enjoy our house as much as we do.
By popular demand here are some more pictures of the freshly painted house.
All 16 feet of bookcases and mantle.
The back bedroom
The middle bedroom
The front bedroom
Here is what was under the carpet
Next time, exterior photos!

I have a 1916 Marsden and your photos are the first I've seen of someone else's Marsden's interior. We have a few very different details! My front and back BR ceilings are very sloped, which isn't the case with yours. It's flat by the little windows and above the large ones (mine isn't). Also, I have a large landing at the top of my stairs, but your stairs seem to start right away.
